Love Works

Love Works is Hope's Ministry of Care and Compassion that serves the local communities in tangible ways: one person, one family, one community at a time. Super Saturdays are held most second Saturdays of the month where we meet needs of people in our surrounding communities and through nonprofit organizations.

Love Works Super Saturday - June 10

Join us as we serve our surrounding community in the following various projects:

Furniture Ministry: help make furniture deliveries to people in need. 9am-1pm.

Bingo at Brandywine: Ready to brighten someone's day? The residents at Brandywine Senior Living love to see us coming! Bring the whole family and play a fun and lively game of Bingo 3:30-4:30pm.

Kids Cookie Baking Event: Come bake some yummy cookies and have a little fun too! We will bake cookies for the residents at Brandywine Senior Living. 10-11:30am

Maggie's Ministry: Maggie's Ministry provides LOVE boxes to children that are battling illnesses. Volunteers provide toy donations, help assemble LOVE boxes and/or make homemade cards that are delivered with the boxes.

Food Drive: donate needed non-perishable foods to fill our food pantry. Drop off any time in the donation bins outside the church main entrance.

The Narenj Tree Foundation: Join us as we partner together with a local non-profit dedicated to serving refugees in Syria and world-wide. Help sort and pack donations from 10am-2pm (101 Schuylkill Ave. Unit 2, Norristown). Or, you can donate items to be shipped overseas.

Email Jess Melniczak with any questions about these projects including donation lists, meeting times and locations or visit the Love Works lobby table on Sunday mornings.

Ongoing Love Works Ministries

Food Pantry

The food pantry serves our church family, Upper Merion, and surrounding communities. Quarterly food drives are held for the pantry and to distribute the remaining food to other local food pantries. Volunteers can help during the week to organize or distribute food.

Clothing Sharing Room

Free clothing for anyone - the room is located in the Upper Campus lower level. We have clothing, shoes, and other essential accessory items for all ages. Clothing may be donated in the vestibule container.

Cooking Ministry

Meeting monthly on the first Saturday of every month at Hope’s Main Campus kitchen from 9:30-11:00 am to prepare casseroles that will be used at the Laurel House, Forteniter’s Dinner and the Salvation Army 3rd floor residents.

Furniture Ministry

Our furniture ministry picks up new and used furniture and delivers it to men, women, and families that are in desperate need of furniture. Delivering almost every week of the year.

Norristown Hospitality Center

Preparing breakfast for homeless clients in Norristown. We not only provide a hot meal but we have the opportunity to develop relationships.

Meal Train

The Meal Train Ministry serves to provide meals for a brief season to families at Hope that may be going through a difficult time of loss or illness. These volunteers are emailed a calendar of opportunities to select a date in which they will provide and deliver a meal to the family being supported.

Super Saturday Love Works Ministries

Bingo at Brandywine Nursing Home

A great ministry for the whole family as we travel to Norristown to play Bingo with the residents at this facility.

Orphans & Widows Ministry

Collecting Hope Packs to bring hope to foster children in transition. We also assist widows who need maintenance done around their home, yard work, errands, and companionship.

Maggie’s Ministry

A ministry created to support children and families with long-term illnesses or long-term hospital stays. We make gift baskets that include toys, hygiene products, magazines/books, gift cards, gas cards, socks, pillows, etc. and deliver them to CHOP. The team that has been approved to actually go to the hospital is limited, so mainly our needs are donations and volunteers to help put baskets together.

American Red Cross

Blood drives are held 3 times a year at our Main Campus  Volunteers serve with set up, tear down and giving direction at the blood drive.

Forteniter’s Dinners

We host a quarterly meal for a group of 50+ people that live in the Norristown Community with intellectual disabilities. Main dish, salad and dressings, drinks, desserts and paper products are needed for the event, as well as people to mingle and to serve the meal.
